Mission

To provide an opportunity for current lay educators, staff and administrators at Benedictine secondary schools, along with their Benedictine confreres, to build community and discover best practices in Benedictine education.   

 

Outcomes 
  • Develop an understanding of the importance of Benedictine mission and identity, as well as Catholic intellectual life.

  • Understand and integrate the Benedictine hallmarks into the life of the school and develop interest and enthusiasm within the faculty, staff and administration for Benedictine mission and engagement.

  • Appreciate the need for and development of collaboration and organization among North American Benedictine schools.

 
Format

The Institute would cover a three-year format, based on week-long, annually rotating modules:

 

Year One:    HERITAGE, Understanding the History of the Benedictines in North America

Year Two:    CHARISM, Spiritual Leadership and Educational Vocation

Year Three:  WISDOM TRADITION, Benedictine Leadership in Education
